We have just completed a good show at the Santa Clara convention center on the 9th to 11th of January. The display incorporated a pond with a stream and waterfall as well as a trellis and landscape pavers, LED lights and landscape plants. These shows are a great way to connect with past customers as well as with new ones and we are finding ourselves reaching out to people with landscape projects as much as with ponds. A good emphasis now for us is the hybrid style koi pond incorporating features like bottom drains and aeration as well as UV lights and bead filters.

Just got back from an excellent two day pond seminar in Southern Ca with the Ponddigger - Eric Triplet - who also owns Exotic Aquatics. We spent time going over and learning about bottom drains, aeration and filtration so that a really great looking pond can also be constructed with very effective systems to control water quality. It is more like a hybrid between a water garden and a traditional koi pond so that you get the best of both worlds - a great looking pond and also effective filtration - with a system that can be adapted to most spaces. Most traditional koi ponds look more like an aquarium in the ground with large numbers of koi going round and round - this new system that I was shown allows you to build a really beautiful looking pond that fits into the landscape.

This holiday season I know many of you out there are suffering from unfulfilled water dreams. Dreams of arriving home to the gentle, relaxing sound of water tumbling over rocks; making yourself a tea, glass of juice or Martini; sitting outside by the pond in a comfortable lounge chair or just plopping down on a boulder, or on that little wooden bridge placed so carefully over the stream, dangling your feet in the water; watching the Koi swim around; smiling as the dusk light envelopes the scene and your busy day fades into oblivion; seeing the colors deepening in the sky to beautiful rose and turquoise hues as the underwater lights and landscape lights add a soft glow to the darkening scene.
Let us help you fulfill your water dreams in the New Year!
Happy Thanksgiving!
